Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are
Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle
Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support
engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle
Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our
products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product
support, including the following disciplines: Reliability, System
Safety, and Supportability. Location: Tucson, AZ What You Will Do:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior
System Safety Engineer to join us on the Naval Powers (NP) System
Safety team. As a Senior System Safety Engineer , your
responsibilities will include: Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E
compliant system safety programs Performing MIL-STD-882E System
Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer’s approved
equivalent Coordinating with customer safety representatives to
gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board
authorities Working across all integrated product teams and lines
to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval
authorities from program startup through production to
demilitarization and disposal backgrounds Key Responsibilities will
include: Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or
Design analyses Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews
and as part of the safety approval process Interpreting system
requirements, customer specifications and military standards
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses
relevant to the System Safety program Collaborating across multiple
disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture
and design Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a
Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
(STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant
experience. Experience with System Safety Engineering with Software
or Firmware Engineering or Electrical Engineering experience. The
ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security
clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S.
citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We
Prefer: Experience in weapon combat systems Experience with DoD
System Safety Programs Experience with Earned Value Management
Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development Experience solving complex
problems by leveraging available resources and research material
Experience with written, verbal and presentation skills
Interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to
manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety
personnel Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or

to obtain a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication
Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense,
handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More

role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a
good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX
