Radiology Technologist Location: Fort Worth, Texas Employment Type:
Full-Time, Permanent Shift: 8-Hour Day Shifts Job Summary: The
Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist, under the supervision
of a Radiologist, performs IR procedures on ambulatory and hospital
patients as requested by licensed providers. Responsibilities
include patient preparation, equipment operation, imaging
acquisition, and maintaining safety and quality standards in
accordance with established protocols. Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-quality IR procedures following established exam
protocols. Communicate effectively with patients and families,
ensuring proper understanding and comfort. Prepare patients and
procedure areas, including positioning and adjusting immobilization
devices. Operate and adjust imaging equipment to set exposure
factors accurately. Adhere to radiation safety, infection control,
and sterile technique standards. Maintain equipment, supply
inventory, and work area cleanliness. Document patient history,
imaging procedures, and other relevant information in accordance
with department standards. Serve as preceptor and provide training
for new team members. Take call if required and provide first aid
when necessary. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited
radiologic program. Certified ARRT-R Radiography. BLS certification
within 30 days of hire/transfer. Licensed as a Medical Radiologic
Technologist (MRT) by the Texas Medical Board. Certification in at
least one of the following within 2 years: ARRT Cardiac
Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CI) ARRT Interventional
Radiography (ARRT-VI) ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional
Radiography (ARRT-CV) IR tech experience preferred, with neuro and
trauma experience a plus.
