Classification: Non-Exempt Role Description Dallas Country Club is
currently seeking qualified individuals for Banquet Captain
position, to support the Banquets Manager in servicing our members,
guests, and wedding coordinators/planners. This candidate must have
excellent verbal communication skills, the ability to lead, as well
as follow direction and must be a team player. This person must be
motivated, highly organized, and visible. Must possess and
demonstrate a sense of resourcefulness and anticipation through
resolving Member and guest needs. She/He will oversee banquet staff
for scheduled events, issue bar inventories, and perform daily
opening/closing task completion. Key Responsibilities • Work
closely in planning with the Banquets Manager and staff. • Work
closely with Banquet Chef & Culinary team for event setup &
execution. • Coordinate room set ups based on Banquet Event Order
and Member needs. • Walk all banquet areas at the beginning of
their shift and complete set up prior to host arrival. • Monitor
pre-function interior/exterior space for cleanliness. • Must have
understanding on how to read and execute a Banquet Event Order. •
Make sure all meeting rooms are set accordingly to the BEO’s and
are always clean and tidy. • Daily recap of all event information
submitted to Assistant GM and Food and Beverage team. • Ensure all
staff arrive on time and are in proper uniform based on the event.
• Plan, delegate, and deliver top level service to all banquet
functions. • Checking out and checking in beverage requisitions for
bars. • Ensure the entire banquet service team is knowledgeable of
all event information (BEO). • Communicate effectively with Event
Management, Members, Guests, Banquet Chef, Front of House
Management/Supervisor team on all Banquet needs. • Cover dining
room MOD shifts during slower periods. The ideal candidate will
have the following experience, skills, and knowledge: • Three years
minimum experience in a higher volume supervisory banquet role,
preferably in a club or hotel setting. Highs School Diploma or
equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or equivalent
preferred. • TABC certified required. • A working knowledge of ala
carte and fine dining outlets is beneficial. • Knowledge of
Microsoft Excel and Word. • Requires excellent oral and written
communications skills. • Comprehend reading materials, speak, read
and write English. • Neat in appearance and well groomed. • Always
demonstrate an approachable and professional demeanor. • Cultivate
a work environment of trust and inclusivity. • Able to make
assessments of every function and respond to its unique needs. •
Strong delegation skills. • Maintain proper associate uniform
standards. • General audiovisual knowledge helpful. • Outstanding
oral and written communications skills. • Ability to manage large
banquet Team, with multiple occurring functions. • Must have Wine &
Bar service knowledge. • Maintain a clean, safe and environmentally
responsible work environment. The ideal candidate will have the
following competencies and qualities: • Must be a self-starter. •
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. • The
employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • To
ensure superior service and sanitation standards, all rooms and
table top utensils must be detailed and presentable prior to every
function. • Make sure all equipment is in working order for the
department. • Requires problem solving abilities. • Maintain a
clean, safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
