Responsibilities Hickory Trail Hospital is looking for a dynamic Registered Nurse! Shift: 12-hour shifts, full time days & nights available. Hickory Trail Hospital is an 86-bed behavioral health facility located just south of Dallas has been providing quality health care to the residents of DFW since 1988. Hickory Trail Hospital provides inpatient and day treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Our professional staff individualizes care to uniquely fit the intensity and severity of each client's case and their family's needs. Because crisis occurs at all times of the day and night, our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our RN Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Hickory Trail Hospital and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. Our RN Staff Nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process, which is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. This position is also accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. Our RN may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required. BSN preferred. Experience: One year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing, preferred. Licensure: Licensure by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Compact State Licensure as a Registered Nurse. Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management. Must be flexible; may be required to work weekends and overtime. Shift: 12-hour shifts, full time days & nights.
