PurposeThe person in this position is responsible for supervising
the production in an assigned production area at Russell Stover
Manufacturing Facilities. This includes ensuring the appropriate
products are produced in the quantities required, ensuring high
standards for quality at the lowest possible cost while maintaining
a safe work environment.DescriptionThe Production Supervisor will
lead and support employees in the production of our quality crafted
candies from raw materials to finished goods. The key
responsibilities of this role include but are not limited
to:Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:Ensuring timely
production in quantity required Schedule production needs based on
plans established by the Planning department, optimizing use of
resources. Provide feedback to the Planning department on
feasibility of plans. Schedule, use and develop capacities with the
respect to manpower, as well as machinery in a way that ensures
consistent production output and meets product requirements at the
lowest possible cost. Establish and maintain organization, optimize
processes and methods to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Participate, lead or support Continuous improvement groups and
initiatives such as 5S and LPW production initiatives. Report
production results on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.Ensuring
Product Quality and Hygiene Monitor and ensure required quality and
hygiene standards according to the GMP policy. Monitor production
processes and quality results and take corrective action in cases
when quality problems arise; ensure problem is communicated to
appropriate functional group and follow-up to ensure corrective
action is taken. Develop and manage processes, methods and employee
knowledge to improve and stabilize product quality. Execute hygiene
and cleaning procedures in order to maximize food safety level;
monitor, audit and document hygiene procedure compliance and
employee awareness.Fiscal responsibility Develop and maintain data
needed for equipment efficiency, labor and waste calculation.
Responsible for output, efficiency, manpower usage and waste
ensuring assigned production area goals are met. Analyze production
processes and propose improvements that would result in financial
savings/benefits.Ensure compliance to company policy, procedures
and safety regulations Encourage and model effective working
relations with employees, other production areas and functional
support departments to ensure timely communication and effective
execution. Develop and ensure effective working relationships
within own area according to company policy. Maintain a safe work
environment; communicate issues and take corrective action when
safety issues arise. Execute and maintain safety procedures in
order to minimize accidents and company liability; monitor, audit
and document safety program compliance and employee awareness.
Hire, train, motivate and coach production staff to fulfill
production requirements and develop a knowledgeable, flexible
workforce with low turnover within production area.Basic
QualificationsExperience:Required 1-3 years supervisory experience,
preferably in a food manufacturing environment Demonstrated
experience working with production machinery Experience in a lean
manufacturing environment (5S, Six Sigma, TPM or similar)Preferred
Experience in food manufacturingSkills & Knowledge: Solid computer
skills with excellent knowledge of MS Office Must have solid
written and verbal communication skills. Proven organizational and
time management skills Strong interpersonal skills Experience with
SAPPreferred Second language (Spanish)Education:Required HS Diploma
or GEDPreferred Associates/Bachelor's degree.Other Requirements:
Required to work weekends occasionally Required to work off shifts
Ability to read and write in English A team player with good
organizational & analytical skills Must be results-driven with good
interpersonal skills Strong leadership, organizational and
mechanical skills Strong written and verbal communication--What

important to us, so we provide protective gear. We also go through
an in-depth Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training on your
first day and continue to share safety tips daily
Surroundings. You'll be working around different machines -
Schubert's, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy
banks/steels. Activity. Some activities may require standing in one
place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders,
and routinely lift 50 lbs.
Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our
climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently
around 63--F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role.
Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you
may end your day smelling like chocolate! Dress code. Relaxed, with
a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and in
guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable,
closed-toe shoes are required. Leather, imitation leather, or
rubber boots or shoes must be worn in the kitchen and other areas
when working around hot liquid/product or hot water.At Russell
